View Article  The Future

Between the opening play of the game (Reyes scoring on the double error) and Gomez's SB and 3-4 day at the plate, I really started to think about how fun the future will be as soon as Gomez really matures. He has the speed potential of Reyes, and with Willie at the head of the ship, The Mets will just be running all over rest of the league.

I know this is not a bold prediction, or one that has never been made before. But, it is really an awesome thought to think about the possible future with this much speed on the feild.

On another note, things we are sure to hear tommorow because its a nationally televised game:

1) How "electrfieing" Reyes is, and how he is the most exciting player in the league
2) How old Franco is, and how amazing it is that he keeps playing
3) The Job that Omar has done, putting together this team
4) Probably the recent problems of the Mets this month
5) Since its the Cards at Shea, Game 7, over and over again
6) The Beltran Debate
7) Delgado's BA

Thats just to name a few of the nationally televised cliches for the mets

Sorry for the infrequencies of posts...I have been having a lot of intenet problems recently and many times I cant login.

On that note:

With the Baltimore Orioles, the most recent news is that they are going to hold off on the manager search for a little bit, and should resume later in the week. The usual suspects are rumored to be involved. Dusty Baker removed himself. The Orioles are now hoping to look at Davey Johnson, Don Baylor, possibly Trembly and a few others. The majority of the beat writers in Baltimore think that the Orioles should go through with the fire sale.

Yesterday on ESPNEWS, Robin Williams and Billy Crystal made a surprise interview where they shared their insight with baseball. Williams said he would call Bonds to the plate like this "BRACE YOURSELFS...FOR THE BIG ONE!" He also did an impersonation of Sosa.

As with last night, I really do like when people get ejected. Good for you LoDuca for sticking up with your fight. I got made fun of today by a Cardinal fan who said that Paul would get suspended now, which to that I said "so what, it was worth it".

Mets are on ESPN2 tommorow night! Bad commentary, but at least its a game televised here.

Until next time, Elliot

As you may have figured, the big news in Baltimroe today is the firing of the manager Sam Perlazzo, who has been replaced with the Bullpen coach, Dave Tremebly. Rumors suggest that the Orioles will try to go for a more pernament replacement like Joe Girardi.

This comes one day after Kevin Millar told reporters that none of this was Sam's fault. That he wasnt the blame of any of it. Meanwhile, on the topic of the bullpen, they have been 0-5 with an ERA of around 8 in the 8 game losing streak for the Orioles.

This suggests that the Orioles may start a firesale, which has been suggested in the Baltimore Sun and on mlbtraderumors.com. In this case, Williams (who has been cut since that article was published), Williamson, Trachsel, Tejada, Mora, and Payton, are all rumored to be on the list to be traded. The Angels have already inquried about Tejada, no NL East teams have inquired about any of them rececntly.

View Article  Finally Back to Basics

Last nights win was just back to basics.

Great starting Pitching. Good Bullpenn. Good running the bases.

I guess the problem would be that more people need to hit. But a win is a win. And I am fine with Reyes manufacturing all the runs if everyone is slumping if we still win.

Tonight will be interesting. For the Mets, Glavine will try to right his ship that went horribly wrong last time out. And the Mets offense will have to deal with Clippard, who just ran through the Mets lineup with no problems last time in the subway series. His ERA has ballooned, even though his record is 3-1, so hopefully the Mets have watched some film and figured out what to do agaisnt this guy.

On another note, I have now lost 9 straight Ebay bids for a Phillip Humber autograph

View Article  Thoughts

As the losing streak continue, I have a few thoughts, most of which have nothing to do with the other.

On the top ten plays today on sports center, they were called the top 10 perfect plays for Lexus and perfection...SELLOUT. but we already knew that espn is sometimes

During the no-no last night, the field was taken over by seagulls again...it feels like the movie birds, but I have a feeling that 29938 people have already made that reference.

THE PHILLIES ARE THREE BACK UGHHHHHH

I went to the Orioles game last night and I saw someone wearing a Lenny Dykstra Mets shirt...so I made a comment.

The Mets will go and "right the ship" (mets.com) agaisnt Wolf and the dodgers.

Wolf has been struggling, and he really struggles during the first inning. The Mets of last year would harp on that (not to say that the Mets arent good during the first inning this year, but last year they were amazing).

Delgado has had some problems with Wolf. In Wolf's last start, the number 8 hitter really got the best of him.

El Duques problem will be a well rested Nomar, who has a .333 lifetime avg agaisnt him.

On another note, the dodgers have a 292-232 record agaisnt the Mets.

View Article  Today's Game

With todays game it is very easy to point out whether the problem was pitching or hitting.

I remeber when I was much younger, I was at a bar in a restaurent and there was a guy complaining about the Orioles saying that "There is no reason to lose a game where you score more than 7 runs"

That is the truth, when you score 7 runs, you shouldnt lose.

Enough complaining, congrats to Gomez. And still always looking foward the next game

View Article  Good week to miss

So if I had to miss one week this year, I think I picked a good one.

I was college orientation for the latter part of the week, where for the first time in a long time, I was with other Mets fans, and for the first time ever, I was with other Mets fans that were my age, which really was amazing.

And I ran into someone wearing a Mets Alomar T-shirt at Taco Bell last night (I wont make a comment, I have a Mets Hildago shirt).

With yesterday's game, well at least it was close. It could have been a lot worse. Today we got Miller, who everyone feels is the future but we can find out today if he is the present.

View Article  Really Sorry

I have been packed this week, and going to be away all next week (including orientation for college!) so I am really sorry for the lack of posts.

See you on the tenth!
